Oops! I completely forgot to post about this last week, but the phone charms are now in stock! You can buy them directly from milkbunnie.com (click SHOP)! They are super cute, durable, easy to clean, unlikely to break, and completely waterproof. The charms are $5 each, but if you buy one of each, you’ll save $1 on each charm, making them $4 each. :3
I’m pretty in love with them so far, and I have a couple extra charms lying around, so I am making them into earrings! I need to get some new earring hooks, but they will be at the Gold Coast Art Fair on Aug. 20, 21, & 22. It is very unlikely they’ll be available online, though… sorry!
In celebration, I’ll be hosting a NEW giveaway! (YAYYY!) This is more Facebook-centric, so if you don’t have a Facebook account… I’m sorry. See the Milkbunnie Facebook page for more details: http://www.facebook.com/milkbunnie
It’s my birthday today! (Well, yesterday, since it is now 12:30 AM…) I’ve been away from the computer (how refreshing!) for a few days and spending all my time at Lollapalooza instead! My boyfriend got us both tickets a long time ago when he got his full-time job. Unfortunately, now that August has rolled around, we are all broke again. Oh well…
Anyway, Lollapalooza was AMAZING, to say the least. Lady Gaga was by far the highlight of my weekend? My week? My month? My summer? My entire life?! I can’t even count how many stage and costume changes she went through. Mind-blowing. Her piano rendition of “Speechless” made me cry. Okay, I’ll stop blabbering about how obsessed I am with Gaga now.
ON TO THE REAL POINT OF THIS POST: One of the vendors at the Green Street Market in Lollapalooza was Michael Michael Motorcycle. He had some GORGEOUS screenprints for sale that I just could not pass up. I love his aesthetic and the amount of detail in the prints!
I stumbled across his booth on the first day, couldn’t decide what to get because I loved everything, and left. I went back the second day, still couldn’t decide, and left. Then he chased me down the street to tell me how much he loved my fennec fox tattoo because he & his wife LOVED foxes. I promised I would come back and actually buy something! So at the end of the day, I decided that I wanted at least two posters and hopefully not spend over $30. Unfortunately, all my favorites were $200+. Sigh. I really wanted that Bright Eyes poster up there… because I’m really obsessed with cats, but A GIRL’S GOT A BUDGET! So I ended up getting an Eisley poster (love them) and a New Found Glory poster (um, I don’t like them, but the art was amazing and it was $5).
Anyway, Nick and I talked to him and his wife for a while, mostly about screenprinting and facilities, etc. They were both such genuine, lovely people. They told us about the best way to set up a printing facility at home, techniques… His wife even showed me a program for running credit card purchases from a cell phone, which is going to be HUGELY helpful in two weeks. It was so great to meet people so supportive, helpful, and inspiring, which made Lollapalooza an even better experience than it already was.
Point is, both of them are fantastic. He is a talented artist, and you should check him out! Here’s a link again! http://www.michaelmichaelmotorcycle.com/
XOXO!

This just makes me laugh. :)
fuckyeahhelvetica:
I figured Helvetica replacing Comic Sans was funny and noteworthy for your great blog. This is one of the new Safari Extensions!

Kind of short notice, but Sarah Azzouzi (of Zzouzi Hats) and I will be one of the vendors at a sushi restaurant in Lincoln Park for their Ladies’ Night event tonight! Come visit, say hello, grab a bite to eat, and show some support to local artists:
It will be from 6pm to 10pm tonight, July 29, at Tsuki!

I will be offering many of my older prints, such as bear & chickadee, pig on a balloon, animal screenprint & card sets… But also some newer work, like the Milkbunnie Dairy Series and new button sets! So you should definitely drop by and I hope to see you there!

I finished the remodel for the Milkbunnie website today! I’m really happy with it! I think it’s a big improvement on the last two versions, even though my web design skills are a little outdated…
I even added a Shop section to the website! It uses the PayPal shopping cart system, which I’ve always found a little annoying, but there’s no way I can code my own shopping cart system, haha. At least I won’t have to rely on Etsy for sales anymore, which is a huge plus in my opinion. I don’t think I’ll be getting rid of the Etsy shop anytime soon, but it’s definitely going to take a back seat to the shop on the main website.

Also! My boyfriend brought home these little square cube thingies from work today. He even spray painted them robin’s egg blue for me! :) I love them… I think I’m going to use them in the art sale in August, maybe to hold phone charms or buttons… But I think I want to hold on to them afterwards and maybe convert them into cute little shelves to hang on the wall. Not sure what I can put in them yet. Probably just an assortment of cute tiny things!
Please excuse the horrible couch behind me. :p It was black and was absorbing so much heat in this hot weather we’ve been having lately, so we draped an ugly white blanket over it…
All four Milkbunnie prints are now available for purchase in my Etsy store! (Click to shop!) You can buy them now, or wait until the Gold Coast Art Fair on August 20, 21, and 22.
I don’t really like Etsy all that much. I mean, I LOVE it as a customer, but I’ve never really been fond of it as a seller. Sometime this summer, I will work on redoing my website again, and I will try to incorporate a PayPal shopping cart system on the website! :)

Animal blobs I created on one insomia-filled night. There are a lot more, but they’re still living in my sketchbook for now.
I drew these four to make into phone charms! I can’t wait until they’re produced and mailed to me. :3 Also, I received the four Milkbunnie prints today… They look GREAT! I am so happy with them.

Christopher Ross belts. My new way-out-of-my-budget obsession. The rabbit one is definitely my favorite.

I finished the Milkbunnie Dairy Products series! It has been an intense few days of drawing… I am about to ordering a bunch of 8.5x11 prints for the art fair in August. I wish I could order more though… But prints are so expensive to make!
The first in the series is the bunny in a glass of milk from a few posts down.
Here is #2 — “Sour Cream” with Milkbunnie on a taco!
(I wish you could put more than one picture in a post without it turning into that annoying slideshow thing.)
