Here is a logo I was working on last month for a photographer in Spain named Corina that found me through Etsy! She was starting up a photography studio specializing in portraits of pregnancies and children and it was going to be called Muikku.
A “muikku” is a small fish related to the salmon. I think it’s called a “vendace” in English, although I’ve never heard of it personally. Apparently, in Finland, when you take someone’s photograph, instead of saying “Cheese!” like in America, they say “Muikku!”
Corina wanted two fish for her new studio’s logo, a mother and son/daughter sort of look. This was what I came up with:

Actually, this was my second concept. I originally had two skinnier fish, which looked more than the vendace in body shape. I actually like the first version of the logo better. Here is a picture:

But Corina felt that the rounder bodies lent itself better to the idea of pregnancies, families, and closeness, which I completely agree with! She also mentioned that this version reminded her too much of the Pisces star sign, which I also completely agree with. All in all, I love the final version of the logo and I think it works really well for the idea behind the photo studio. But something about the first version makes me happy when I look at it, and I had to share! ;)
Sorry I’ve been neglecting this blog so much! For those that aren’t caught up with my personal blog, Whisker Thoughts (which I do try to update more often), I started a full-time job recently, so I haven’t had much time to draw or work on any Milkbunnie stuff. Please bear with me!
